The ABHP grants professional certification in the field of Health Physics.
Certification is granted based on a combination of academic credentials, experience, references, and two examinations (Part I and Part II).
Applications must be submitted online (https://app.prolydian.com/organizations/abhp). Application materials are due by January 15 for the exams given in that year. Part II is normally given annually coinciding with the Annual Meeting of the Health Physics Society.
Starting with the 2018 exam, The Part I exam will be administered through testing centers rather than at the HPS Annual Meeting site. Further, it will be administered during the month prior to the HPS Meeting rather than coinciding with the meeting. All confirmed candidates for Part I will be contacted by the Secretariat with details on test administration.
A History of the Board and the current requirements for certification are contained in the Prospectus.
Additional information regarding the examinations can be found in the Examination Preparation Guide.
Inquiries regarding the certification process can be directed to the Secretariat.
